The vast majority of the Italians there are Venetians specifically. According to Wikipedia about 1 million people there speak Venetian which they call Talian. It isn’t however a dialect of standard Italian. It evolved in parallel with the Tuscan language which has become standard Italian.

Loved the video Conor! Keep up the good work! You should make some more videos about Irish! I’m very interested in learning it.

Hi Connor, nice video. Hope you visited Santa Catarina’s emeralds beaches too…they are now flooded with tourists, mainly from Argentina. Santa Cruz do Sul and Blumenau have authentic Oktoberfests, you should see…but with a lot of chopp and little german language. In fact, since 1937 when foreign languages were forbidden in Brazil due to imminent wwII, we see few people speaking german. Keep posting, thanks, danke schoen, obrigado, oscar

Hi Connor, I know the area of Córdoba in Argentina. There is a place called “Colonia Caroya” which is the only town in the world where people speak friulian outside of the Friuli region in Italy. There is also “Villa General Belgrano”, a german town, where is organised the third biggest Oktoberfest.

Im German and Im in the area of Cordoba right now, Argentina. I have been to a town called Villa General Belgrano which is mainly German but a bit kitschy. Some owners of restaurants speak German but also others don’t but they try to keep German traditions alive including a big Oktoberfest. Apart from that I heard about a town called Cumbrecita also in the Area of Cordoba where they apparently only speak German and you wont even see a single street sign written in Spanish, only in German

If the Portuguese settlers had not brought african slaves, probably Brazil would be a first world country.
